Catching up with September

We built a bird feeder together (pictures were not taken of this tedious and frustrating project)...

And then Chas went to work decorating it!

I went up to the aquarium in the mall to see if it was appropriate to take our 100 Kindergarten kiddos to for a field trip...Chas was my kid expert!

Chas LOVED the little eels...we went back three times!

I got to watch baby Taylor and Chas helped out, too! He loved playing with T!

Bumpa helped Chas smash apart the birdseed bell since the lid does not come off on the bird feeder we built.

Nick was asked to play in a golf tournament so we went to the driving range to brush up on skills. It was Chas' first time and he had fun!

I enjoyed myself, too, hee hee!

Today I decided to let H outside just to sniff around. After ten minutes she decided that the best spot was in my lap! I love my kitty!

10/19/2014 Chas learned to ride his bike today! He has always been a very cautious child and riding a bike was not one of his "I want to do that!" activities. But we took off his training wheels, practiced for about 15 minutes and he has gotten the idea! And finally, after many years, Nick figured it out, too!

New York City Trip June 2014

Here we go! Our crazy summer trip was: Up to NYC...2 nights...off to NH for a night...Mom and Grammy to ME for three nights, Dad and Chas stayed in NH...back to NH then off to Maryland for one night...then home...

We ate our way to the city...

Chas and Nick are so tiny and that wasn't even the top of the pedestal!

Fun Memory: We enter the statue and get to climb to the top of the pedestal. So Nick and Chas take off on the stairs. We are told it is about a 5 minute climb. Well, two flights in my mom and I are winded. We decide that it is not worth it and we will wait for the elevator. So down we go. After standing in line for about 5 minutes (it was a 20 minute wait) another guide says it is a 3 minute climb. Ha! So back to the stairs we go. After the second flight we realize there are signs with the number of stairs left which totally motivated us! And we made it! (In about 3 minutes!)

Chas has always loved the Statue of Liberty and it was truly a dream come true for him to see her!

First NYC pizza...decent but not the best...

Another fun memory...there are characters (see the mouses in the background?) are all in NYC. I had no interest in paying to take a picture with them because I am a cheapskate. WELL...Chas walks by minions and they wave him over. He goes and they hug and they all line up and say "Picture! Picture!" So I yell to Nick and get his phone. IMMEDIATELY after I snap it they rush forward to me saying "Tip! Tip!" (pronounced teeeep! teeeep!) I told them I have nothing! They start yelling at me, "You stupid lady! Why you take picture!" And of course my entire family LEAVES me to fend for myself as I walk away... so funny!
